Hello,
I've a new Hognose snake that is 18 weeks old and I was told to feed her on 1 pinkie every 5 days (I haven't weighed her yet but will do so soon). I fed her for the 1st time on Tuesday as instructed by the previous owner. It went down really easy and there was a slight bump - although I found it hard to tell really as she is typically Hoggy plump!
Anyway, a day later she was up and about rumaging around and I'm wondering if she was still hungry? Are they normally active during the digestive process? I'm used to my corn who is content to curl up in his cave on the warm side of the viv for the whole 48 hours (unless he sneaks out when I'm not about). I know they are supposed to be a bit more active than corns but expected her to be quieter during digestion!
I'll post pics when I can get my head around the instructions.
Thanks

Alidan

OOpps! Think I did something wrong with the signature, not sure how to re-size it. I'll have a go

snakes can act differently after feeding, some curl up like your corn, some are active is down to the individual snake.

I think hoggies have faster metabolisms generally - my hog is up and about within a day of a feed, whereas my corn is sluggish for a lot longer. Once every 5 days should be fine for feeding a young snake.

1.0.0. Western hognose (Baldrick)
0.1.0. Amel bloodred corn snake (Cornflake)
R.I.P. Bob (Western hognose)
